Early UK Stereo Pressing — Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band by The Beatles (1967)
Matrix: YEX 637-1 AA 1 / YEX 638-1 MP 4
This is a highly collectible early UK stereo pressing of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, one of the most iconic and influential albums in music history. Pressed in 1967 on the Parlophone label (PCS 7027), this copy features extremely rare matrix and stamper codes that mark it as one of the earliest batches ever produced.
🔍 Why This Copy Is Special
• Matrix Numbers:
• YEX 637-1 AA 1 — Side A was pressed from the very first lacquer, first mother, and first stamper. This is as early as it gets.
• YEX 638-1 MP 4 — Side B also comes from the first lacquer, with early mother and stamper codes.
• These codes indicate a pressing from the first few days or weeks after the album’s release — a true collector’s dream.
• Early stampers are prized for their sonic fidelity, being closest to the original master.
