Description
This is Rutherford Chang's extension of his headline-making 2013 NYC art installation, in which he set up a mock record store which only carried 1st pressings of the Beatle's White Album - over 800 of them, this was purchased when the installation was in LIVERPOOL for a short time,
He created this LP by playing back 100 uniquely worn copies at the same time, allowing them to drift out of sync and organically transform from recognizable tunes into static and bursts of noise.
The cover and labels were created by compositing the images of 100 different copies together. A large poster is included with the image of each individual copy.
The LP received a very short pressing run and was offered for sale only for a short while, before being taken down due to rumoured massive legal threats.
Chang has recently been quoted as saying that he doesn't know the exact number of records pressed, but it is "a few hundred". There are unconfirmed reports of the pressing being 450. shipping to Europe is £15 USA/REST OF WORLD £18
