THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'

1965 UK *1st MONO* PRESSING LP

**XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1**

This fine 1965 UK 1st MONO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1267
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 1 label.

Housed in a thick card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1
Stamper numbers: 1/AA & 3/RP

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both surfaces are extremely bright & glossy in strong direct daylight and bear just a single 1cm light scratch on side 1, but no further marks or wear.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just one or two faint stylus hairlines and some wispy inner-sleeve removal marks, but other significant signs of wear.
100% flat on the turntable on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: EXCELLENT PLUS

  Having listened carefully at volume to the entire disc, I am happy to report that the sound is perfectly clean & clear throughout.
All tracks play without any traces of groovewear or background noise - even the delicate & easily damaged 'Michelle' plays perfectly.
Apart from a single light click in the band between tracks 1 & 2 on side 1, I detected no other trace of intereference on any band or either run-in.


Cover: EXCELLENT PLUS

An beautifully clean & firm example which retains an unscratched, high-gloss laminate with no 'thumbnail' creases or any other significant wear at all.
There is a tiny wrinkle to the upper right corner but otherwise all others are in perfect shape. Both opening edges are clean & sharp, with just no tears or feathering.
The rear panel itself is pristine clean & white with no discolouration, handling marks, writing or any other blemishes.
All flipbacks are in-place, clean & undamaged and both seams & the spine are undamaged.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT PLUS

Crisp, clean & flat with some light toning but no splits, tears or writing.
