This Excellent 1st STEREO pressing dates from late summer 1966 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 7009

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK...' text with an 'KT' purchase tax code in the centre of the side 1 label.


Matrix numbers: YEX 605-1 & YEX 606-1

Stamper codes: 2/OM & 3/MT

Vinyl weight: 149g


The disc is housed in an extremely rare front laminated, flipback 'E.J. Day' printed stereo mono cover.

Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.



CONDITION

Disc: EXCELLENT

Both playing surfaces of this well looked-after disc retain their deep-gloss shine with only some harmless wispy paper-type marks below halogen light. This example has received a moderate amount of play on quality equipment only and all tracks sound fresh and unworn. A hint of regular low-level vinyl background is audible between tracks but there are no clicks, pops or any other audible distractions anywhere.
 
Cover: EXCELLENT

This is a highly respectable example of this impossible to find cover variation. The striking front panel is clean & bright with the only blemish being a small brown spot just above Ringo's head which is actually a flaw in the card and beneath the laminate which is smooth & unworn above it.  There is minor shelfwear bruising to the corners but no tears or feathering to either opening edge. The rear panel is clean & black where it should be with just a faint bend to the upper left corner but no writing or missing paper. All of the flipbacks are fully intact, as are both seams and the fully worded spine.
