Description

The Beatles - Revolver

This exceptional, 'final upgrade' copy of the Beatles' seventh studio album is a UK stereo first pressing on the sought-after Yellow and Black Parlophone label.
The sleeve is the original front-side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve which has a solid stereo aural signifier on the front cover. The sleeve is the first variant which incorrectly lists track 4 on side 2 as 'Dr. Robert'. This was later corrected to read 'Doctor Robert'.
The matrix numbers, -1/-1, identify the record as a first pressing. The mother & stampers codes suggest that the record was produced very early in the production cycle. Consequently, the audio reproduction is simply fantastic. Take a listen for yourself below!
The labels correctly title S2T4 'Doctor Robert'. Although often credited as the second variant, or equally, variation B, the mother & stamper codes suggest that the two labels must have been used concurrently as I have had this record with 3 / 3 mother codes with the 'Dr. Robert' mis-title.
The album is complete with the original EMI 'patents pending' inner sleeve.

Serial number: PCS 7070
Matrix number: YEX 605 - 1 / YEX 606 - 1
Stamper codes: 1 GH / 2 MA
Vinyl Weight: 170g

Condition:

Vinyl: EXCELLENT +
Labels: EXCELLENT +
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only a couple of very light spindle marks can be seen to either side.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
The vinyl retains immaculate deep-gloss playing surfaces which are blemish free in bright daylight. Underneath a halogen desk lamp only a handful of wispy hairline can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow shine. A great example.
Sound Quality: MINT -
The audio is fantastic. Have a listen yourself:

Side 1:

Side 2

As can be heard from the recordings, this copy has seen minimal play. There is no sign of groove or play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides. It is quiet in between songs. A single pop can be heard during the intro to 'I'm Only Sleeping'. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and a punchy bass. Very difficult to find a copy better than this.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The sleeve looks superb! The front retains a gloss sheen with bright colours. The rear is clean without any sign of discolouration or damage to flip-backs. All four corners are crisp and sharp. The opening and top and bottom edges along with the square spine are all without any wear. If not for very minor foxing at the spine I would confidently grade as Mint-.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. There is the unavoidable signs of subtle ring wear. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.

The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
