Purchased direct from the collection of a Now Retired EMI Record Executive, who was given this album back at the time, this is a **GENUINE** Opportunity to purchase an ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO Parlophone **FACTORY SAMPLE** Vinyl LP for The Beatles tremendous album ‘Revolver’. HARDLY EVER SEEN IN STOCK, this Factory Sample is one of only a few in existence issued as Factory Samples in advance of the general release!
A Description of this album package is as follows:
This SUPER RARE Factory Sample is on the Black and Yellow Parlophone Record Label, with the 'Gramophone Co Ltd' label rim and 'With Sold in UK' label text. The OFFICIAL White Parlophone pointed end sticker with red printed text adhered to the side 1 record label reads **'Factory Sample Not For Sale'**.
The LP comes in its original Lined Emitex Inner Bag and is housed it is original ERNEST J DAY Laminated Three Flip Back Sleeve.
The Dead Wax Matrixes and stamper information is as follows:
The Side 1 Matrix is XEX 605-2, and side 2 Matrix XEX 606-3. The side 1 stampers are: 'LD', and the side 2 stampers are: ‘2’, 'ML'.
The Grading of the Record Labels, Vinyl Disc and Sleeve:
Both sides of the record labels are in clean excellent condition. The labels are bright, free from any handwriting or damage, showing just a few light spider marks. Side 1 of the vinyl disc is graded excellent, and side 2 is graded in excellent plus condition. The vinyl is very nice showing just a few light surface marks, but no major scuffs or deep scratches. The Rare Ernest J Day Sleeve is graded in SUPER excellent plus shape - the front and back of the sleeve is BRIGHT, CLEAN and WHITE – all the edges and corners are in great shape and the spine is FIRM and undamaged. The reverse of the sleeve is also in respectable shape, with no handwriting or tearing, and all three fold over flaps show no damage.
An Assessment of The Playing Quality
The album plays well – there NO Skips, NO jumps – with just a little background crackle but no major distortion – a pleasant warm and clear sound.
Collectors will be aware that Official Beatles UK Factory Samples are VERY RARE indeed, as they were only issued in house for Promotional purposes in advance of general release – ‘Revolver’ has always been a significant Beatles title and this Factory Sample is an IMPRESSIVE example which has been accurately described!
