This EXCELLENT UK 2nd MONO pressing dates from Autumn 1966 on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009

Both labels include the 'Sold in UK....' text and have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' rim texts

Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-3

Stamper codes: 4/RLG & 4/RMH

Vinyl weight: 141g

Housed in front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover & plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve

A clean & unblemished pair with a collection of light spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT +

Both playing surfaces are perfectly clean and retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shine and are unmarked in strong daylight. Closer inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals a small number of barely visible wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal and a sparkling rainbow shine.

Sound Quality: EXCELLENT

This well looked-after copy has received minimal careful play and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults. My playcheck detected the usual light low-level background on 'Eleanor Rigby' & Here, There And Everywhere, but no other noticeable distractions elsewhere. There are certainly no clicks, pops or any other audible blemishes on this respectable sounding copy.

Cover: EXCELLENT +

An exceptionally clean & unworn example which has been carefully and correctly stored all its life in a non-smoking environment. The striking front panel is perfectly white, unscratched and unworn with just a two small thumbnail wrinkles but not a single spine bend. All corners are in fine shape, without any heavy bumps or bruising. Both opening edges are perfectly sharp and totally unworn along their entire lengths. The exposed rear panel is clean & black where it should be with a touch of storage rubbing but certainly no writing or missing paper.

Both seam are smooth & unstressed and the spine is fully laminated & worded.

Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT

Clean & flat with a few soft wrinkles from storage but no writing, seam splits or tears.
