Description
BEATLES RARE BRASS APPLE PAPERWEIGHT
This item, is probably the most desirable piece of Beatles memerobillia currently on the market. Featured is a late 1960's Beatles Brass Apple Paperweight, as given to selected staff upon the opening of the Apple Studios, by the Beatles themselves. It is reported that only 100 of these apples were ever made, and the number said to be in the UK in 2006 is around 4! One of these apples is for sale in the December 2006 issue of Record Collector, and from the website http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=372340 where the asking price is £2,500! This is a genuine item, and due to its rareity and value, the starting bid has been set at £450.
The apple measures 5.5" from its base to the end of its stem, and is 3.5" wide. It is hollow, comes in a total of 3 pieces which comprise of a screw in stem, and a top & bottom section of the apple itself, all made from fine machine turned brass. Its condition can only be described as 'outstanding', and has not been cleaned with any damaging chemicals or abrasives. Im sure you'll agree that it is a beautiful item, well worth bidding on. Good luck all who bid in the auction, and please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
