I've been listing a bunch of these UK editions of the Beatles, and it's just struck me again how much better these are than the US discs I grew up with. Even the jackets are glossy and gorgeous.
Anyway, here's Rubber Soul, one of their very best, in a 1973 pressing (I believe; I'll type out the matrix numbers below if you'd like to double-check).
The surfaces are VG+, just barely audible in the silent grooves, and I listened through and heard maybe two gentle ticks during music.
The lamination is letting go a bit on the left side of the front cover, but it doesn't seem like it's going to peel away or anything. There's dings and wear at the right corners, wrinkles to the lamination...still VG+ as you can see.
