Summary:
This is the RARER STEREO Version for The Beatles FIRST PRESSING 1965 UK Parlophone album ‘RUBBER SOUL’. Both Record Labels and the GLEAMING Vinyl Disc are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition – A NICE example!
Album Description:
The ORIGINAL UK First Issue HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl LP on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK….’ , and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ label text, and printed ‘STEREO’ to both sides.
Side 1 matrix YEX 178-2 and Side 2: YEX 179-2.
Side 1 stampers: 1/H and Side 2: 1/GD.
There is a ‘KT’ tax code stamped to the centre of the side 1 record label.
The album comes in an ORIGINAL lined ‘Use Emitex….’ Printed Inner Bag
……And is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED STEREO Garrod and Lofthouse, three flip back sleeve, printed ‘stereo’ to the top right hand corner of the reverse of the sleeve.
Audio Quality:
The album plays EXTREMELY WELL through ALL the tracks . This is a STRONG, CLEAR early STEREO sound with NO skips, NO clicks and NO Background Crackle - VERY IMPRESSIVE!
Album Condition:
Both sides of the record labels are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition. This is a CLEAN, BRIGHT Set of record labels, with no more than a few centre spider trails. The Silver printed text is UNFADED, and Yellow Parlophone Print and logo BOLD and VIVID.
Both sides of the Heavyweight vinyl disc are in SUPERB excellent plus condition. EXTREMELY BRIGHT, UNWORN vinyl surfaces to both sides - quite unusual to find this early Stereo disc in such FINE condition - with nothing more than a few faint surface hairlines, none of which affect the sound quality. There are NO scuffs to either side.
The Original Garrod and Lofthouse Front Laminated sleeve is in overall RESPECTABLE excellent condition. The sleeve is FIRM and CLEAN, and the laminate DEEP and GLOSSY, There is very mild record indentation to the front panel, and mild bruising to all four corners – nothing major. There is slight rubbing (not split) to the top edge of the sleeve about an inch in length. The back panel of the sleeve is BRIGHT, STRONG and CLEAN, shows mild age toning. All three flip backs are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge is FIRM and clearly reads ‘Rubber Soul, The Beatles’.
The Original ‘Use Emitex’ lined inner bag is a CLEAN excellent example, with a 3" split to one of the seams.
FIRST PRESSINGS of this EARLY Beatles UK STEREO Album are becoming HARDER TO FIND. The condition of Vinyl Surfaces on this example are particularly IMPRESSIVE – NICE, COMPLETE all round Example.
