THE BEATLES: THIS IS A VERY RARE AND **ORIGINAL** 1965-66 UK CONCERT PROGRAMME FOR ‘NEW MUSICAL EXPRESS ANNNUAL POLL WINNERS’ ALL STAR CONCERT HELD AT THE EMPIRE POOL, WEMBLEY, LONDON ON SUNDAY 1 MAY 1966 FEATURING THE BEATLES LAST EVER LIVE CONCERT PERFORMANCE IN THE UK!
This NME Programme is extremely significant as it featured **THE BEATLES LAST EVER LIVE CONCERT PERFORMANCE IN THE UK!**. Although this was not announced as such, the Group knew that there would be no more British tours or concerts after this, their fourth consecutive appearance at the Annual Sunday afternoon 1 May 1966 event.
The Beatles performed ‘I Feel Fine’, ‘Nowhere Man’, Day Tripper, ‘If I Needed Someone’ and ‘I’m Down’. Once again the Concert was filmed by ABC Television, BUT the cameras were switched off for both The Beatles and The Rolling Stones’ performances because of contractual disagreements between ABC TV and respective Group managements – understandably leaving many fans who could not be present at the actual concert very disappointed not to be able to see their favourite acts on TV! Between January and April 1966 The Beatles had enjoyed a comparatively restful time after five years of continuously strenuous activity. Predominantly these four month were taken up by holidays – in fact a honeymoon for George who married on 21 January and recording sessions for the group’s most ambitious album yet, a project eventually to be titled ‘Revolver’!
This NOSTALGIC and EXTREMELY COLLECTABLE 20 page programme contains details of all 19 performers during that afternoon Gala, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, ‘Small Faces’, ‘Cliff Richard’, and ‘The Who’. The Beatles were FIRST on the bill!
This RARE UK programme is in very nice overall excellent condition. There are NO Loose Pages, NO tearing, NO handwriting or major deterioration. All that is evident is a little age corrosion around the two staples holding the programme together, but certainly nothing major that detracts from the overall respectable condition of the Programme.
A very IMPRESSIVE piece of Original UK Beatles HISTORY, being extremely significant as it was to be THE BEATLES LAST EVER CONCERT APPEARANCE IN THE UK!
