The picture sleeve is what makes this item especially collectible. It’s one of the few U.S. sleeves from the Beatles’ golden era that features George Martin’s name prominently, and it’s often considered one of the rarest Beatles-related sleeves issued by United Artists. The sleeve design is clean and classic, and because it wasn’t mass-produced like Beatles singles, surviving examples in VG+ condition are scarce.

Offered here is an original 1964 United Artists Records picture sleeve for the George Martin instrumental 45: “A Hard Day’s Night / I Should Have Known Better” (United Artists UA-750). This is one of the most desirable Beatles-related sleeves from the golden era of the 1960s—scarce, historic, and beautifully preserved.

Sleeve Condition: VG+ (Very Good Plus)

  • No ring wear, splits, tape, stains, stickers, writing, or holes

  • Very light record impression only

  • A few faint folds: one along the left edge, another at the lower right corner

  • Overall, a strong VG+ example—clean, crisp, and highly collectible

Record Condition: VG (Very Good)

  • “A Hard Day’s Night” side: multiple hairline marks and a few scuffs; plays well with two faint pops (barely audible)

  • “I Should Have Known Better” side: two hairlines visible at approx. 6 and 3 o’clock; light scuffing near the outer dead wax

  • Labels: VG with light wear, no stickers or writing
