1963 UK **GOLD & BLACK LABEL** MONO LP
**'NORTHERN SONGS' PUBLISHING CREDITS**
Available for a shorter time that the first pressings with the 'Dick James' publising label credits, this 'second ' pressing carries the rarer 'Northern Songs' credits for 'I Saw Her Standing There' and 'Misery' one side one and for 'Do You Want To Know A Secret' and 'There's A Place' on side two. These labels were pressed just before the change to the yellow and black label design in April 1963.This copy with superb labels, has the 'Northern Songs' credits on both sides.
This original 1963 mono 'second' pressing copy is on the UK gold and black label PMC 1202
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Parlophone Co...' rim texts
Publishing credits on both sides include 'Northern Songs'
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label
Housed in a correct front laminated, flipback 'E.J. Day..' sleeve
'Angus McBean' credit positioned to the extreme right corner
Complete with original polythene lined inner-sleeve
Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 422-1N
Stamper numbers: 2/GH & 1/M

Visual: VERY GOOD Very heavy and thick vinyl with clean surfaces retaining a good shine.
There are some noticeable surface marks and the occaisional light scratch but nothing deep or 'feelable'.
100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: VERY GOOD MINUS
Although played many times this deep groove pressing retains a very powerful sound.Played at volume groovewear is audible on the louder tracks especially, together with some light crackle between tracks.
However, there are NO loud clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.
Sleeve: VERY GOOD MINUS
A correct 'gold & black' sleeve with the 'Angus McBean' photo credit in the extreme right hand corner.This thick, heavy card 'E.J. Day sleeve displays moderate handling and storage wear.
The front panel is clean with light opening edgewear and slight corner bruising.
The rear panel shows some discolouration and some small areas of missing surface paper but no writing.
The delicate flipbacks are intact and in good shape, all seams are strong and unsplit and the spine is strong and undamaged.
