THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK GOLD LABEL MONO PRESSING LP
This early pressing dating from a few weeks after release, bears the second variant of the gold & black Parlophone label: PMC 1202
The publishing credits for tracks 1 & 2 on side 1 and 4 & 6 on side 2 are credited to 'Northern Songs Ltd.'
(Initial 1st pressings credits the publishing of these tracks to 'Dick James Music')
An 'MT' purchase tax code is visible around the side 2 centre hole.
Housed in a correct, early front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover with the 'Angus McBean' credit in the extreme lower right corner, beginning beneath the final 's' of Songs'.
Complete with an original 'Use Emitex..' poly-lined inner-sleeve.

A sparkling, clean & unblemished set with no wear or damage to any of the delicate gold print. There is a touch of wear around each centre hole but no clumsy or visible spindle marks anywhere.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
Both playing surfaces are perfectly clean & retain 100% of thier deep-gloss shines with no dull or cloudy patches. Careful inspection in strong daylight shows up just two ir three very faint surface marks which appear to be light fingernail scuffs, but there are certainly no scratches of any kind. Close examination directly beneath my powerful and unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals some insignificant wispy hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal and careful play, but no significant or major marks or wear. Downgraded slightly from a full EXCELLENT due only to a slight dish which produces a minor uneven edge when playing side 1. However, but this does not affect sound or play in the slightest.
Play: EXCELLENT
All tracks on this very respectable copy played without any significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults. My careful play-check at volume picked up a touch of playwear to the grooves to the first few tracks on side 1, but little else of any consequence. There are no clicks, pops, jumps or any other major distractions on this well looked-after copy.

VERY GOOD -
This correct & fully intact example displays general handling and storagewear but no major faults. The front panel has a moderate crease to the upper right corner and the lower corners show some shelfwear rubbing. The rear panel has some faint age-related blemishes but is free from any writing or missing paper. There is some minor wear to the lower flipback but all are present and relatively unworn. There is a little flaking to the laminate of the upper seam but the lower one is smooth and the spine is clean & fully worded.

EXCELLENT
Clean & white with a little storage creasing but no writing, seams splits or tears anywhere.
