Description
We proudly present a mega-rarity: An original first UK pressing of the first Beatles LP "Please Please Me" on the legendary black & gold Parlophone labels! Even more sensational: It is one of very few manufactured Factory Samples, testified by a special sticker on the label! These factory samples were always taken out of the very first pressed records, and so it cannot surprise that the stamper codes reveal a sensationally early pressing: The "1 G" on both sides is clearly a proof that this particular record was produced from the first Please Please Me stamper EVER made! Naturally, these are the most desirable pressings, because they sound the best. Add to this the legend factor of this iconic long-player and the "factory sample" status, and you understand the importance of THIS record!
The record is graded as a great EX. Shiny and heavy vinyl with only a few surface marks and a few surface scratches. NOT hearable. NO sticks or skips. The sound is loud, deep and warm. Much better than later pressings. Plays sometimes with light background noises.
The labels are consistent with the previous observations, having "Dick James" credits for the relevant titles, which is another sign for the earliest pressings (later ones had "Northern Songs" credits). Graded as a nice EX-. NO unwanted writings. The cover is the correct "Ernest J. Day" manufactured with the photographer's credits far to the right-hand side! Last, but not least, it contains an original EMITEX inner sleeve, in EX condition! Frontcover is graded as VG, Backcover as VG- with a long cut on the lower flipback, directly at the lower edges/flipback, was taped from the inside. NO unwanted writings.
