THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
1963 UK '3rd' PRESS *STEREO* LP
**ULTRA-RARE EARLY COPY**
This extremely rare 1963 UK '3rd' STEREO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Both labels omit the 'Sold in UK..' & 'Recording First Published..' texts.
The rims around each label begin 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..'
The 'MT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed a 'gold' front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' large logo stereo cover.
The 'Angus McBean' credit is positioned in the extreme lower right corner.
Complete with its original poly-lined 'Use Emitex' inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1
Stamper numbers: 1/P & 1/G
Despite having a black & yellow label, the '1/G stamper on side 2 signifies this copy was one of the first few hundred ever pressed.
CONDITION Disc Labels: EXCELLENTVisual: VERY GOOD PLUS
Both sides are clean, bright & glossy with no groove-whitening or dulling to either surface from incorrect long-term storage.
Apart from an occaisional light fingernail scuff, both sides bear no major visual wear in daylight.
Close & careful inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some wispy inner-sleeve removal & a few stylus hairlines, but no major faults.
100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Audio: EXCELLENT
This copy has recieved careful play on good quality equipment and the sound throughout is clean & clear
There is no trace of any background crackle/noise or groovewear distortion in either channel on any track.
Apart from a few light ticks on the run-ins and between some some, there are no significant or major audible faults anywhere.
Cover: VERY GOOD
This rare example is clean & strong, displaying moderate handling & storagewear without any serious faults.
The front panel is clean, bright & glossy with just a few light wrinkles on the lower edge & towards the lower right corner.
All corners have some rubbing and general shelfwear but the opening edges are clean and bear no tears or 'feathering'.
The rear panel is clean & white with just a few light creases but no stains, marks, writing or missing paper.
There is some obvious damage and repair to the lower flipback but the others are intact & in-place.
Both seams are strong & unsplit and the spine is fully worded & undamaged.

This disc has been carefully audibly graded in its entirety on a Rega P9 deck fitted with a Shelter 901 cartridge.
