THE BEATLES - 'A COLLECTION OF OLDIES'
1966 2 X 1-SIDED UK STEREO TEST PRESSINGS
**ULTRA-RARE & 100% GENUINE**
Here is a rare opportunity to acquire a genuine set of 2 x 1-sided UK test-pressings for the 1966 LP 'A Collection Of Oldies' (PCS 7016)
Each disc plays one side of the LP whilst the other side plays just a continuous test signal tone.
Both discs have plain white labels with just 'THE BEATLES' written on the playing side of disc 2.
The playing side of both discs also bears an embossed 'KT' tax/price code in the centres.
N.B. There is no cover for these discs. They will be supplied to the winning bidder in plain white inners.
Matrix numbers: YEX 619-1G & YEX 620-1G
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/G
The above stamper numbers confirm these discs were among the first copies ever pressed.
CONDITION Disc Labels: NEAR MINTJust some small spindle trails on the blank side labels.
The 'G' stamper code is visible in the 3 o'clock position.
There are no labels underneath.
Disc 1
Visual: EXCELLENT MINUS
Both surfaces are clean & bright, bearing just 3 noticeable non-feelable surface marks in daylight.
Inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals a few stylus & paper hairlines but no major marks.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
The sound is clean & clear throughout without any traces of background crackle or groovewear distortion.
There are a few moderate clicks on 'We Can Work It Out', 'Michelle' & 'Yesterday' but no other faults or wear.
Disc 2
Visual: EXCELLENT
Slightly less marking on this disc with just 3 or 4 light, non-feelable fingernail lines in one small area, but no other significant marks.
Inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals some light paper hairlines but no further wear.
Audio: EXCELLENT MINUS
The sound is again clean & clear throughout without any traces of background crackle or groovewear distortion.
Apart from an unexplicable 1-groove skip on 'Bad Boy', there are no major audible faults.
Some light background is audible between some tracks, but there is no further significant wear.
Try to find another!
