UK 1966 *1st PRESS* EP
On the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8952
Both labels carry the the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label & in both run-outs.
Housed in its original front laminated, bi-flipback picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 904-1 & 7TCE 905-1
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/G
The above mother/stamper numbers confirm this copy as being amongst one of the first few hundred copies ever pressed.
Condition
Labels: EXCELLENT
Some small spindle marks but no major faults.
Visual: EXCELLENT -
Both surfaces are clean and bright with no significant marks or wear in strong daylight. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals some wispy hairlines light consistant with light, careful play but there are no scratches or any further marks or wear.
Play: EXCELLENT
This copy has received some careful play on good equipment & the sound throughout remains clean & clear. My careful playcheck at volume revealed no groovewear or background noise - even on the delicate 'Michelle'. There are no clicks, pops or any other major audible faults to any part of this extremely respectable copy.
Cover
VERY GOOD +
A bright & clean example which retains a clean and undamaged from panel and no significant wear to the corners or opening edges. The rear panel has some storage marks and a small blemish but no tears, writing or missing paper. All seams are fully intact & undamaged.
- Strict & grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
- I carefully play every record I sell on a $5,000 Rega P9 turntable at volume and list all visual and audible faults.
