THE BEATLES - 'NOWHERE MAN'
UK 1966 1st PRESS EP
This EXCELLENT copy of their final & rarest 4-track EP is a 1966 UK 1st pressing on the yellow & black Parlophone label: GEP 8952
Both labels bear the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd..' worded rims.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Housed in a front laminated, bi-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed picture cover.
Matrix numbers: 7TCE 904-1 & 7TCE 905-1
Stamper codes: 1/GG & 1/GM
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
A clean & undamaged pair with a moderate amount of light spindle trails around either centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Clean and bright playing surfaces where the only sigificant mark in strong daylight is a 4mm light one on track 1 of side 1, and not what I would term a 'scratch'. Close inspection directly beneath halogen light reveals a small number of harmless wispy hairlines but no other significant blemishes.
Play: VERY GOOD +
This rare copy has received just some careful play on good equipment ad my careful play-check at volume found there to be no significant deterioration to the sound quality throughout. I detected slight background beneath the acapella introduction to 'Nowhere Man' & on 'Michelle' but no further audible blemishes.
Cover
VERY GOOD
An overall respectable example with some moderate handling & storage wear. The front panel is clean & glossy with just some minor age-toning to the rear panel. The only significant fault is a 2cm stress to the spine seam but there are certainly no other major faults elsewhere.
