Paul McCartney + WINGS
Hi Hi Hi / C Moon
ORIGINAL 1972 UK 7" SINGLE - With accompanying standard 7" filing sleeve
BANNED FROM UK AIRPLAY!!!
ALTHOUGH ONE SIDE IS CREDITED WITH C MOON BOTH SIDES MISTAKENLY PLAY HI HI HI
ONE OF A KIND
THIS IS A HIGHLY COLLECTABLE RARE FACTORY MISPRESSING - NOT SURE OF OTHERS IN EXISTENCE
VINYL - MINT
This is certainly one of the more quirky BEATLES and McCartney items you will find on EBAY.
The history is interesting itself as this record was released at a time of the formation of WINGS - Paul's McCartney's first serious attempt (and first line-up) to move on post-Beatles with a new band. McCartney was later to become the most successful solo-Beatle with numerous best selling albums and multiple sell out tours, whilst topping the bill at many historic events to this day.
This single, as well as GIVE IRELAND BACK TO THE IRISH, was banned from UK airplay due to the contentious lyrics, and was released at a time when McCartney appeared in court for cannabis possession.
So with all that history comes a most interesting twist as C MOON does not appear on this single!! The song inspired by Paul and Linda's new found love for Jamaica and Reggae is missing from this single, giving way to a second complete hearing of HI HI HI.
So although it looks like this record should play Hi Hi Hi and C Moon, it plays UNIQUELY Hi Hi HI twice.
This is a seriously Rare factory mispress and should have been snapped up when first pressed and then thrown away.
It then survived in MINT condition without any damage, rips, tears, handwriting until I purchased it in the 1980's and noticed that I had a very interesting item on my hands. And many questions as to how this particular mispress could have happened.
This record should have been destroyed, neglected, thrown away, scribbled on and so forth. Instead it has been well looked after for 38 years and appears here on EBAY as a unique one-of-a-kind item for a buyer who will hopefully look after it for years to come.
This small vinyl record basically is a survivor.
If you are interested in this item I wish you happy bidding!!!

SUMMARY
Any BEATLES related items featuring a mispress such as this are highly desirable to collectors. Items such as these are rare to find as they are often discarded at the pressing stage, or severely not looked after later in life. This record should not have survived at all yet it appears here in awesome MINT condition as a true testament to the rare occasions that mistakes can be made during the factory pressing stages. A similar item to this has not ever been brought to my attention and I believe this to be completely unique, one-of-a-kind and therefore a stunning long term investment for any serious BEATLES or PAUL McCartney collector.
