THE BEATLES - 'LOVE ME DO'/'P.S. I LOVE YOU'

1962 UK 1st PRESSING RED LABEL 45

**NEAR MINT '1/G' FACTORY SAMPLE**


This superb 1962 1st pressing is on the UK red & silver Parlophone label: 45-R 4949
The 'Love Me Do' label carries a genuine 'pointed-end' Factory Sample sticker.
Both labels have 'Ardmore & Beechwood Ltd' publishing credits, 'Parlophone Co. Ltd..' rims & the 'Made In Gt. Britain' text.
The single letter 'Z' tax/price code is embossed on the 'P.S. I Love You' label.
The 'ZT' code is stamped in both run-outs.

Housed in an original EMI 'Top Pop' promotional sleeve.

Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17144-1N & 7XCE 17145-1N
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/M

This is without doubt one of the first few hundred standard copies pressed.

CONDITION


Labels: NEAR MINT

As good as new with just a few faint spindle trails.

Visual: EXCELLENT PLUS

Extremely clean, bright & high-gloss surfaces undulled by groove-whitening from overplay or improper handling or storage.
Apart from a 3cm non-feelable/non-audible scuff on side 2, there are no other marks visible on either side.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals a few light sleeve removal/paper hairlines but no other visible wear.
Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.

Audio: NEAR MINT

An outstanding 'as new' sounding disc.
Both sides play without absolutely any groovewear, background crackle or any other deterioration to the sound.
Both run-ins play without any intereference & there are no clicks, pops, hiss, jumps or repeats on either side.
A beautiful soundding copy which is guaranteed not to disappoint.

Sleeve: EXCELLENT

Some light creasing & storagewear but no tears, writing or splits.

Strict visual grading in daylight and directly under a halogen desk lamp.

All discs are carefully play graded in their entirety on a Rega P9 deck with an Ortofon Kontrapunkt 'A' cartridge.
