I am a 40 year collector of LPs and 45s from the 50s and 60s. I have been collecting The Beatles UK LPs for 25 years. The Beatles LPs I have listed on eBay are from my personal collection.

I have also been an audiophile for 40 years (analog only). The unsealed LPs listed have been play-graded on high quality equipment (turntable, tone-arm, cartridge, pre-amp, amp, speakers, and subwoofers). My system picks up the slightest surface noise on vinyl; i.e., ticks, pops, hiss, and sibilants due to groove wear. The standard I have used in adding a record to my collection has been how well it played (no surface noise present) in addition to how it looked. Over my years of collecting I have continuously upgraded my personal collection of Beatles LPs to where almost all of them play as new. To me, this means quiet surfaces; i.e., no ticks, pops, crackle, or hiss in the music or the dead wax.

The outer sleeves/covers of these LPs have been stored in polyethylene sleeve protectors since I acquired them. I also removed the LPs from the original Emitex inner sleeves and stored the LP in a custom rice paper sleeve while keeping the original Emitex inner sleeve in the LP jacket.

I have used strict grading standards of the UK publication Record Collector. I will use a mint grade only if I know a record has never been played. Unless a record is sealed, M- is my highest grade. I have described the flaws, if any, on the labels, vinyl, and sleeves. All the LPs I have listed will play as good as, or better than, they look. This is a gorgeous early pressing box set of Let It Be. It has the earliest Matrix numbers used for this LP. Beginning in 1969, the “Sold in UK…..” statement was removed from all Beatles’ records. The labels on all Let It Be LPs pressed in 1969 have a statement on the far left side of the label that says “Mfd in U.K.” but the “Sold in U.K….” statement was no longer required by legalities in the U.K.

This LP was the Beatles last released LP. The recording sessions for Let It Be were in January 1969 but the LP was not released until May 8, 1970. It was recorded only in the stereo format and was the last Beatles LP to be released. The box set is Apple PXS-1. The LP was pressed by EMI (Parlophone) but is on the Apple label and is catalog # PCS 7096.

I have stored the various components of this box set (outer box, trays, Get Back book, LP sleeve, and the LP) separately to avoid wear and damage. As you will see, the condition of the LP and sleeve is near perfect while the condition of the outer box and Get Back book are not close to perfect. How a near perfect LP and sleeve remained perfect while the outer box and book show some heavy use is a mystery to me but that is how I acquired it many years ago.

Labels: M-

The labels are the dark green Apple labels and are flawless. I can see no spindle tracks around the spindle hole and the spindle hole itself shows no signs of wear. The green, white and black colors on the label look rich and bright. There are no signs of handling wear.

Vinyl: M-

The vinyl is flawless. It shows the sheen and high gloss of a new LP. It is completely free of dust or dirt that would dull its natural sheen and affect its sonic qualities. Based on the look of the labels and vinyl this LP hasn’t been played more than a couple times. I have played the LP once to record it to tape. The vinyl plays flawlessly without ticks, pops, or surface noise. You will hear nothing but the music in the songs and silence in the dead wax on the run-ins, run-outs, and between songs. The sonic quality of this early pressing is simply stunning. This is a gorgeous copy of the Beatles final studio LP release.

Sleeve: M-

The sleeve was made by Garrod & Lofthouse and is in truly superb condition. Both front and back panels are firm and have retained the high gloss of these early, classic laminated sleeves. It has solid seams all the way around with no splits in the laminate. The colors on the sleeve are as-new bright. Neither the front nor back of the sleeve show any ring wear. The corners are square and sharp and show absolutely no wear to the corner tips. There are no creases on the front or back laminate. In the very lower right hand corner of the front, there is a very small area next to the lower seam where the laminate has pulled away from the inner paper. This can only be seen on close inspection. This is an all-around near perfect sleeve.

The inner sleeve is the correct white sleeve for this LP. All the seams are intact with no splits.

This is easily the finest copy of this LP and sleeve I have ever seen.

Outer Box: Good

The outer box is structurally sound. The front pictures of the Beatles show some color fading and some of the laminate has come off the lower left edge of the box. There is also some creasing to the front of the box and wear to all four corners of the box. See the photos.

Inner Trays: Mint

These are new trays that I purchased for the box set. They are identical to the original trays and have never been used.

Get Back Book: VG+

The book is intact and the binding is strong with no loose pages. Some of the laminate on the spine has worn off, mostly on the lower left corner. There is slight creasing on the lower right corner and it shows wear on all four corners. The biggest flaw with this book has always been the binding coming undone and the pages falling out but not so with this one. It shows some wear but the binding is solid and the pages are all intact. There are no tears or marks on any pages of the book.

Please do not remit payment until you receive an invoice. The buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. All boxes and other shipping materials are new. Each LP is carefully packaged in custom made LP mailing boxes with the disc removed from the sleeve cover. Shipping costs include only the actual costs of shipping and the required shipping materials. Shipping services within the US are USPS Priority Mail. This LP will be double boxed. The various parts of this box set will be packaged individually in a box larger than a regular LP mailer and that box will be filled with Styrofoam material to ensure there is no damage to the inner trays, Get Back book, etc. The record and the record cover will be packaged in a custom LP mailer within the larger box. The outer cover and  trays will also be packaged in a custom LP mailer. The shipping cost within the US for this box set is $26.00 and includes a signed for receipt.
