Beatles LP Boxed Set The Essential Beatles Australia NM

Bought new in 1981, this set includes the Beatles book, “Beatles In Their Own Words.”  The book has never been opened, and it retains brand new stiffness and shine as if printed yesterday afternoon.

Vinyl--- NM.  Has a slight warp that doesn’t affect play.

Box--- Beautiful.  Usually when you find this boxed set, the black glossy box has general wear all around.  Black, as well as white covers of albums are the most difficult to find in clean condition.  This box has some shelfwear to the bottom right corner, and that’s about it.  There are manufacturer’s perforations down each side, where this box was separated from the next box in the production line.  But that’s not damage.  The all-important box flap on the back is nearly perfect.  These flaps tend to get bent around the edges and then tear over time.  This one only has some slight creasing from use.  Otherwise, it’s razor-sharp clean.

Plates--- YAPAX 1071-30/ YAPAX 1072-3 TVSS-8

Cover--- VG++.  Apart from some indent from the book, and a very small round stain on the back, this cover is like new.

Labels--- NM, brand new-loooking.

Inner Sleeve--- Original rice paper sleeve with rounded bottom is present and in NM condition.

You’re not going to find a better one of these unless you take a bus back to 1981 Australia, and pull one straight from the shipping carton that doesn’t have the bottom corner shelfwear.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
