Beatles LP UNDOCUMENTED APPLE Sgt. Pepper W9 Jax Press, Wrong Mix of Good Morning Good Morning

Many collectors are aware of the black Capitol 1968/69 issue of this pressing. But I’ll bet even the hardest core collectors didn’t know that there is at least one copy on the Apple label with Capitol logo.  Pressed from the identical plates as the black label copy, you can compare the dead wax photos with the more well-known version, also for sale this week. I play-tested this copy when I bought it a few years back, and the dropout is definitely here.

Vinyl--- Stunning, very close to NM. With the exception of a few hairlines per side, this copy looks nearly brand new. If you’ve read the description of the black label copy for sale, this one is in better condition than that one!

Plates--- X8/W9.  Compare the photos with the other copy. This copy was pressed from the identical plates.

Cover--- Not only is this cover very beautiful, this copy was also issued in a first-pressing cover, probably to exhaust the stock before using the 1968/69 covers.  Minimal general wear, bright colors, NO SPLIT SEAMS, not even almost.

Labels--- Side 1 NM, Side 2 has some extremely light spindle marks that you can see under a bare bulb.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Issued in a plain white sleeve, no die-cut hole for the labels to show through.  I wrote “W9” in an upper corner, in order to be able to easily find it in my collection, since I own multiple copies of each title.  NO SPLITS. Will ship LP in a plain white sleeve in order not to further split your original inner sleeve.

Insert---         Overall really nice.  Has one bent corner at the bottom left, and some light finger divots at the bottom.  Other than that, this insert is still flat, nice and not faded very much at all.

If you’re a labels collector like I am, you should probably not count on finding one of these anytime soon.  Until 2020, I didn’t even know this existed, and I’ve been a labels hunter since 1975.

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!) 

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
