Beatles LP Revolver RARE 1971 RED TARGET LABEL! Cover Still in Shrink, VG+ Vinyl

READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

For those unfamiliar, the red Target Capitol label from the early 1970’s was supposed to have been created for Capitol’s Country albums.  The very first precious few copies of The Beatles’ “Revolver” and “Yesterday…and Today” popped out on this red Target label.  But rather than recall, the plant let them out as is.

Absolutely not to be confused with Canada’s red Target issues from this same period of time, these U.S. pressings are scarce.  FAR more scarce than the Record Club issues.

Vinyl--- VERY strong VG. Most would grade it VG+.  This copy will make a very fine copy for someone’s collection, even if you never see another one within your lifetime.  There are very light scratches on both sides, but with plenty of original shine left to the playing surfaces.  (See photos.)

Plates--- W13/ X10.  Hand-etched Delta symbol meant to resemble a rifle is in the dead wax on both sides, making this copy a Winchester, VA pressing.

Cover--- VERY bold and strong cover.  The shrinkwrap, which has one or two very small breaches, has done its job remarkably well, protecting the cover from damage.  The cover looks almost brand new, with the exceptions of some wear to the exposed corners.  There is NO ringwear or dirtwear to the black and white front cover, nor to the flat black back cover.

Breathe Holes--- There is one breathe hole on Ringo’s nose and one on George’s left eye on the front cover.

Labels--- Gorgeous NM.  Both labels are free of dirt, stickers, writing and tears.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.  Both labels look like they were printed last night.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original inner sleeve, which is a plain, white generic sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels is present and in nice condition.  NO SEAM SPLITS.  The only complaint is that the sleeve has significantly yellowed over the past 52 years.

A generic white inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 12

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
