Description

This week, among other nice finds, there are several Beatles mono LP’s for sale.  Covers vary in condition, but all the vinyl grade from VG+ to really nice VG++.  None are NM, but most of these will be keeper copies for those who can’t afford stone mint copies for their collection.  Be sure to have a look at them all.

Beatles LP Revolver Original First Pressing STEREO VG+

Vinyl--- Jacksonville.  Respectable VG+ vinyl.  Has a few light soft lines on both sides that are visible under normal room lighting.  Under the bright bulb test, a very few more hairlines will appear, but they are very few and far between.  Vinyl retains most of its original gloss.  Nice disc.

Plates--- W6/W5

Cover--- This copy’s original cover was split wide open, with a name written in Sharpie on the front, and was heavily ringworn.  I replaced it with a later cover, not original to this issue.

As a bonus, there was a magazine article tucked inside this one, which discusses the Revolver recording sessions.  No indication which magazine, but there is the second half of an article about Timbuk 3 and mention of The Church.  My best guess is that this article appeared in the 1990’s, and it includes quotes from all the heavy hitters, like George Martin, Geoff Emerick, Ken Townsend and Philip MacDonald.  Really good article with a heavy lean on the recording session for “Tomorrow Never Knows.”  This may well have been issued around the same time as Mark Lewishon’s first book.

Labels--- In-house Jacksonville labels, having the much smaller font.  Side 1 has some circular wear (see photo) which may have been a manufacturer’s defect.  Label 2 is NM.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Original yellow Capitol inner sleeve is present.  One seam has a center split just over an inch long, the rest have no splits.

RIAA: 16

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Check out my other auctions for more hard-to-find vinyl!
