READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles LP Meet the Beatles Last MONO LA Pressing RARE In-House JAX Labels, EX!

Not many collectors are aware of this label variation.  In 1966, there were in-house Jacksonville labels with very small text issued for several titles of The Beatles’ catalogue in stereo.  But there were only three titles issued in mono with mono labels.

Those titles were Meet the Beatles, Beatles VI and Help!  The most common of the three is Beatles VI, and even at that, you’re not going to have an easy time locating one for your collection.

Meet the Beatles and Help! are situated just this side of the “Now Entering Impossible County” sign in the collecting field.

You’re not going to see another one of these come up for sale, and especially in this condition for a very long time.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Both sides shine as though brand new.  But close examination will show extremely light lines, and not that many, on both sides.  Side 1 has some manufacturer’s defects at the 6 o’clock position.

Plates--- F13/G14.  This copy has the wide 6-pointed star in the dead wax, as opposed to the more familiar machine-stamped asterisk, making this pressing from Los Angeles.  See photo.

Cover--- VG+.  Cover has yellowed.  Has a long scuff across the front.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Gorgeous.  Both labels look as though they were just printed this morning.  NO SPINDLE MARKS EITHER SIDE.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX.  Tan colored Capitol inner sleeve is present, NO SPLIT SEAMS.  This sleeve is from 1966, which was the last colored Capitol sleeve.  This is the correct sleeve for this last MONO pressing.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 9. Very first use of the 9 RIAA was this one.

If your Beatles collector thinks they have everything, check their collection for this copy.  I’ll bet it’s not there.  This would make a very generous Christmas gift for your serious collector!

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
