Quality vinyl for the discerning collector

The Beatles – ‘Let It Be’, complete Box Set - UK UNPLAYED 1st Pressing (first mother) -2U/-2U with red apple logo, dating to the initial release date of 8th May 1970

A stunning example which has not been played in its 48 year history.

Most likely pressed on the first day of manufacture in late April 1970.

A complete UK manufactured ‘PXS1’ box set designed by John Kosh. Contains all original components.

Any UNPLAYED Beatles vinyl is the holy grail of collecting and provides a great investment opportunity.

Of all Beatles releases the Box Set release of Let It Be is perhaps the most difficult to find. The construction and design proved inadequate for handling by enthusiastic fans and so very few copies survived intact.

Happy Bidding and good luck!

Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U

Stamper codes: 1/A (first mother) 3/GO – (very early stampers)

CONDITION

Disc

Visual: Side 1: MINT  Side 2: MINT-

Beautiful unplayed vinyl with a stunning high gloss rainbow sheen as if it were pressed yesterday. Side one is in MINT factory condition. On close and prolonged inspection I noticed a very small and ultra faint mark on side two. This heavy duty vinyl lies 100% flat on the turntable.

Labels: MINT

A stunning set of shop fresh labels which are in MINT condition. There is no evidence that this record has ever been played.

Audio: MINT

Unplayed vinyl always provides a dilemma on whether to test play it or not. On consideration I decided to give it one very careful playback and can confirm the audio is in MINT condition. No imperfections other than the sound of natural vinyl and some static on the intro to I’ve Got A Feeling. Beautiful analogue sound throughout on this superior -2 pressing.

Cover

EXC+ to MINT-

Due to its extremely light construction this is probably one of the toughest covers of all Beatles releases to find. With it’s very narrow spine and thinner card most Let It Be covers have not survived well if at all. This cover however is in remarkable condition with very little to fault. The front panel is in near perfect condition still retaining its original high gloss laminate sheen. There is no rubbing or scratching to the laminate. There is what appears to be some light thumbnail creasing towards the spine on the rear panel. Overall the cover is in stunning condition and is a superb example of this ultra rare RED APPLE logo cover.

Slipcase Cover

EXCELLENT

Incredibly difficult to find anything approaching the condition of this slipcase. Well preserved and in excellent condition.

Book

EXCELLENT

Original 164 page soft back book with some great informal photographs of The Beatles by Ethan Russell. Unlike most copies I’m pleased to report there are no loose or missing pages in this book. Grades at excellent possibly excellent +.

Inner Tray

EXCELLENT-

Slight creasing to one side of the outer edge and a small area of damage at the bottom right corner on the inner recess tray.

Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT+

Superb fresh condition with correct Patent No. 1,125,555
