Beatles LP "INTRODUCING THE BEATLES" - Vee Jay Records (VERSION 1 MONO - FACTORY SEALED!) - VJLP-1062 - FIRST PRESSING!
This was known as the COLUMN BACK COVER. It is an initial pressing of the VERSION 1 variation in MONO issued on January 10, 1964 and featured "P.S. I LOVE YOU" and "LOVE ME DO" rather than titles "PLEASE PLEASE ME" and "ASK ME WHY" which are found on VERSION 2 copies. Soon after VEE JAY's impending lawsuit with CAPITOL Records, the album bottomed out due to CAPITOL'S superior marketing of BEATLES recordings such as LPs like MEET THE BEATLES.
Since far fewer VERSION 1 records were ever pressed than VERSION 2 records, any VERSION 1 is quite a find, much more valuable and always a highly sought after collector's item - in any condition - especially still SEALED!
In MINT condition, obviously this record commands the attention of any serious BEATLES COLLECTOR.
All of our BEATLES pricing is reflective of the latest BEATLES PRICE GUIDE authored by STANLEY PANENKA however in cases like this where one of the most sought after LPs of all time shows up STILL SEALED, it must obviously pass certain tests.
With SEALED COPIES, the first and most obvious test is that GEORGE'S SHADOW appears to his right on the front cover. The second is that the cover has a very sharp photo and is glossy. The third test is the "HONEY" test. This test involves the song title "A TASTE OF HONEY" printed on the back cover. In looking at the word "HONEY", the "E" and the "H" are printed clearly. On FAKES, these letters have ink missing in each of their top left corners. This LP obviously passes that test as shown in the photo provided.
Any VERSION 1 of this LP is quite valuable. A SEALED COPY is so rare, one hardly ever sees one these days. Please feel free to ask questions and request additional photos!
Very RARE, quite collectible and valuable to any BEATLES collector!
