READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great collectible with errors.

Collectors know this 4-LP boxed set as the rare mail-order offering that was squashed by Apple Records and then quickly replaced by them with the 1962-1966 and 1967-1970 red and blue double albums.  These boxes are known for having richer and deeper great sound quality, because their master tapes were the more expensive reel-to-reel tapes that were on the market in the late 60’s.

This copy has two label errors.  First of all, the second LP has the same label on both sides, so that there is no Side 2 label.   And secondly, the Side 5 label has 7 titles listed, and 8 songs on that side.  Finally, there are errors that are found on all copies of Alpha Omega, such as the “Obladi, Oblada” title, and the “Bangladesh” title.

Vinyl is beautiful.

Vinyl--- EX/EX on all four LP’s.  Not NM, but very close to it!  Some sides look very close to unplayed.  A few sides have just a small few hairlines.

Plates--- All sides are supposed to read, “ATR-BH 101-1” through “101-8.”  This copy’s Side 1 dead wax has the additional “ART-BH” error.

Box--- VG.  Lid has no broken corners.  But all four edges have moderate to heavy shelfwear.  Bottom tray has one broken corner, and three side panels have splits in their middles.  Back of tray is heavily worn.  See photos.

Labels--- VG/NM. VG/VG. VG/NM. NM/VG.  Sides that are VG have moderate wear.  Sides that are NM look brand new.

Inner Sleeves--- VG. Generic white inner sleeves with die-cut holes for the labels to show are present.  Second sleeve has a side seam split and a punch hole.  All of them have yellowing and moderate wrinkles.

Generic inner sleeves will be provided, so as not to damage your original inner sleeves en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
