Beatles LP 2 Copies of Introducing the Beatles 1964, Both Legit, Different Labels
READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Both version 2 copies, these LP’s are completely in resellable condition, rather than the trashed copies we’re used to seeing listed on eBay for $299.00 that nobody’s going to pay.
Copy #1 All black label
Vinyl--- Beautiful VG+/VG++. Side 1 has some light scuffs that you can’t feel with your fingertip. I did test-play the first three cuts on a friend’s turntable, and although the album plays with surface noise between tracks, the stylus tracks just as evenly over the scuff. You can’t hear it. A VPI cleaning might remoisturize the vinyl, and address the surface noise.
Plates--- Trail-off has the hand-etched Delta symbol that precedes the catalogue number, as well as the very light machine-stamped “MR” in a circle.
Cover--- Structurally solid. NO SPLITS. Top and bottom seams have light to moderate shelfwear. Print on spine makes this a genuine cover.
Labels--- Light spindle marks on both sides.
Inner Sleeve--- Generic white inner sleeve, not original to this LP.
Copy #2 Colorband Label
Vinyl--- VG/ VG+. Light surface lines on both sides. However, Side 1 has a pronounced scuff across the first three cuts on Side 1. I also test-played this one, and once the music starts, you don’t hear it at all. Between tracks in the silent bands, you do hear a ghost of it, though. Album plays with surface noise throughout.
Plates--- Side 1 has all hand-etched: ARC, URJ and 2-12-64. Machine-stamped “Audio Matrix.” Side 2 has all the same, except that the date is 2-6-64.
Cover--- VG. Structurally solid. For some reason, there is tape across the mouth, as though the cover had been taped shut. Small piece of slick removed. Top and bottom seams show moderate shelfwear, but NO SPLITS. Spine is in much better condition. Print on spine makes this a genuine cover.
Labels--- VG. Bright colors still present, but there are significant spindle marks on each label. The specs on the labels in the photos aren’t dust. They are reflections off the high gloss on the labels.
Inner Sleeve--- Generic white inner sleeve, not original to this LP.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
