READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP 1969 Beatles’ Story “Subsidiary of…” Undocumented Label Variation, Side 2!

(NOTE:) Be sure to have a look at my new book on flash drive, “Demystifying The Beatles,” on sale now!  Endorsed by Perry Cox, this flash drive contains the most extensive database created so far, of American Beatles album labels, many of whom I guarantee the most seasoned collectors have never seen!)

For decades, this variation was thought not to exist, and to date, no complete set has ever been discovered.

Very few collectors have ever seen one of these labels.  This is a straight transfer from the original 1964 labels from Scranton.  They are so rare that there has never been discovered a copy of The Beatles’ Story that has this variation on all four labels.  To date, I’ve discovered this label variation on Sides 2 and 3 only, and on two separate copies.

**This auction has the “Subsidiary of…” label on Side 2.**

Vinyl--- Side 1 VG+.  Would grade NM, except that there is some kind of residue, which is very light, does not seem to come off and is not feelable.

All other sides are NM/NM/NM.

Plates--- W5/W3. W3/W5.  Machine-stamped triangle with the letters, “IAM” inside it makes this copy pressed by Scranton.

Cover--- Very beautiful VG+.  Had it not been for just a couple of areas where the front cover has some very light ringwear, this cover would have graded EX.

All seams and spine are muscular-strong, NO SPLITS.

Mouths on both pockets are razor-sharp, no fraying at all, whatsoever.

Gatefold--- EX.  Just a very small amount of dirtwear.  Center seam is perfect, NO SPLITS.

Labels--- NM/NM. NM/NM.  See Side 4 compere photo of the more common Subsidiary of... label.

Capitol Inner Sleeves--- VG.  Both sleeves have browned significantly, and both have seam splits a few inches long.

Generic inner sleeves will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeves en route.

RIAA: N/A.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
