READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1965 Rubber Soul MONO Decca Consignment First Pressing, EX!
Beautiful first pressing Decca-consigned MONO pressing. “The Beatles” is missing from the first pressing labels.
This vinyl is your keeper.
Vinyl--- EX/EX. Side 1 is almost NM. Just one or two light and tiny lines. Side 2 has more, but not more than half a dozen. Both sides shine 95% brand new, maybe a little dulling of the grooves. Impressive-looking vinyl.
Plates--- T6G/P7G. The additional letter at the end is Decca’s plate-numbering system. No Capitol insignias present in the dead wax, because this is not a Capitol-pressed record.
Cover--- VG. A strong VG. Structurally solid cover, the front has some light dulling and the back has light to moderate yellowing. Light ringwear to front cover, light record outdent to back. NO SEAM SPLITS.
Labels--- EX/NM. Side 1 label has a speck of missing label. See photo. You can see the label platform under it, rather than white paper. This tells me that it was a manufacturer’s defect, and not a tear. Side 2 is NM. "The Beatles" is missing from both Scranton labels. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Decca labels are flat against the vinyl. Concentric groove closer to the playhole come from Decca lathes.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Company Capitol olive green inner sleeve is present. Sleeve presents EX, but all three seams have splits a couple inches long.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 4
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
