Album Description:
This UK ORIGINAL First Issue Factory Sample of John Lennon's ICONIC Album 'Imagine' was released by APPLE Records UK on 8th October 1971.
The Vinyl LP is on the Custom Apple picture label, with 'Mfd in UK' label text and comes in its Original First Issue Laminated Picture Sleeve, together with an Original double sided PRINTED Lyric Inner Bag, An Original Postcard sized Photograph, and Original Large 33” x 22” Poster with John Lennon sitting at the famous White Piano also included is an Imagine Promotional four sided gift card.
Both sides of the record labels are in UNDAMAGED Mint condition, hard to detect even a spindle mark, there is a White sticker with Red print on the side 1 record label that reads, Factory Sample Not For Sale.
Official Matrix and stamper information:
Side 1 matrix: YEX 865-1U/Side 2 matrix YEX 866-1U.
Side 1 stampers:3 GRG, Side 2 stampers:6 GRP. Correctly etched on the side 1 trail out groove is the word 'PORKY', and on side 2 etched into the run out groove is the word 'PECKO'.
Both sides of the Heavyweight Vinyl disc are in STUNNING Near Mint condition - the Vinyl has been very well cared for and played only a couple of times, all that is visible are a couple of light surface hairlines.
The playing quality matches that of the visual grading and the album plays superb.
The Original UK Issue fully laminated Picture Sleeve is in Near Mint condition, a FIRM, GLOSSY sleeve, the Spine edge is intact and clearly reads 'Imagine', 'John Lennon' 'Apple' 'PAS 10004'.
The Postcard is in mint condition, the machine folded Poster is also in Mint, No pinholes, tearing or splitting to the seams. The correct Printed Made in Great Britain inner sleeve is in Near Mint condition with NO seam splits or tearing, just a little light creasing, the Promotional Imagine gift card is in Excellent condition, with a couple of light creases.
A very nice **COMPLETE WITH ALL INSERTS** example of Lennon's most SYMBOLLIC album!
