Description
These are rare to begin with, and the sound of all these early MONO only Italian Beatles are as good as it gets. NOT the reissues ,I’m referring to the PARLOPHON labels . The Italians are quirky. The cover is what the rest of the world knows as Meet The Beatles , or With The Beatles , but in Italy it seems their Please,Please Me Album. PMCQ 31502 ( mono is all they pressed up until Rubber Soul ) matrix XEX 420-1T- 26-11-63 side one . XEX 421-T1- 26-11-63 side two. Meaning November 26,1963 . This album is 55 years old . This gets difficult to explain. There were four first pressing labels first two Dark Red ,second two Bright Red . The difference in the labels is different than the UK. In the UK the first pressings had gold labels ,then gold labels with different publishers ,then the yellow logo with redundant 33.3 then yellow with no 33.3 those were the actual first four pressings in England ( without sold in UK statement on labels ) there was of course a fifth pressing as well, all those in 1963, but spread out over time from one variation to the next. In Italy these were for all intents pressed within a couple of weeks to a month at latest . Considering the first Italian pressing didn’t come out until it was almost December. This IS A 1963 PRESSING first pressing, fourth variation of the red labels with BIEM on labels . They put a lot of money into their records and covers ( Carish ) the aesthetics are awesome visually . The covers are laminated on BOTH sides . Sound is as close to an EMI master tape as I believe you’ll ever hear. I collect Beatles UK first pressings ,and have them all, but these are easily as good if not better. You don’t see mother’s like in the UK that can get up there, and the stampers are almost always over fifty in the UK. I nor anyone else knows how many records they pressed in the UK off of any given stamper, that’s all conjecture , and if they pressed a thousand albums off of one stamper, where was yours or mine in that run. It’s for those reasons I started collected. Italian Beatles after I heard the White Album in Italy many ,many years ago. Condition. 1.Cover on a 10 scale 9/10 . No seam splits , only very slight ringwear on front of cover, camera picked it up a bit. Flipbacks are perfect. Inner sleeve perfect . Possibly the cleanest cover you’ll see of this album. 2. Labels on 10 scale 9/10 pictures show condition. Hasn’t been played a lot. 3. Vinyl on 10 scale 8.5/10 clean, hairlines and light scuff . Most sellers may not even mention this, as you have to hold the record in a certain light . It has been played by me five times. 4.Sound 10/10 quiet, no pops, clicks ,skips or distortion. Perfect . Shipping USA $15.00 includes insurance and priority mail in USA only. PAY NO ATTENTION TO EBAY ... Rest of world except $15.00 with tracking . Will NOT ship to Russia,China ,Greece and Portugal .
