THE BEATLES
'HELP!'
1969 UK *MONO* PRESSING LP
Produced and sold in extremely small quantities, this 1969 2nd mono pressing is arguably the hardest of the 1969 yellow & black mono pressings to locate.
On the final version of the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1255
Both labels OMIT the 'Sold in UK..' text but have 'Gramophone Co..' rims
There is no tax/price code present on either label.
Housed in the correct thinner card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono logo cover.
Complete with an original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
Matrix nos: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2
Stampers: 9/MDT & 1,8/ATA
Disc weight: 144g
Condition
Labels: 1. NEAR MINT 2. MINT
A 1st class set with just a single light spindle mark on the side 1 label but none on side 2.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces of this immaculate copy appear 'as new' with all of their deep-gloss shines undulled by careless handling or incorrect storage. Close inspection in strong daylight shows just a few tiny 5mm hairline scratches on side 1 but absolutely no further marks or wear whatsoever. Careful examination directly beneath my halogen desk lamp reveals nothing more than a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines anywhere. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.
Play: NEAR MINT
This copy has clearly received just one or two plays and sounds pristine throughout with no traces of groovewear distortion on any track. My careful play-check at volume detected just two light ticks at the end of track 3 on side 1 but no groovewear distortion, background noise or indeed any other traces of audible wear to any track. Even the delicate and outstanding mono mix of 'Yesterday' plays perfectly.
Cover
NEAR MINT
An extremely clean & bright example with just a faint touch of storagewear but no 'thumbnails' or any other significant or major faults. All corners & both opening edges are sharp & undamaged with no bumps or tears. The rear panel is clean, bright and white with no handling marks, writing or missing paper. All flipbacks, both seams & the spine are completely intact and undamaged.
Inner-sleeve
EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with just a hint of storagewear but no writing or splits.
