*EXCELLENT* 1965 UK *1st MONO* PRESSING LP

On the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1255

Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.

The 'KT' tax/price code is visible in the centre of the side 1 label.

Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed outlined mono logo cover.

Complete with a contemporary non-EMI poly-lined inner-sleeve.

Matrix numbers: XEX 549-2 & XEX 550-2

Stamper numbers: 5/PD & 3/LH

Disc weight: 159g

A clean & bright set with just a number of light spindle trails around each centre hole.

Visual: EXCELLENT

Both surfaces of this well-looked after copy retain all of their 'as new' deep-gloss shines with no surface marks or wear visible in strong daylight. Close & careful inspection directly under my powerful halogen light reveals just a sparkling rainbow gloss and a few insignificant wispy inner-sleeve removal paper hairlines but no other marks or scratches. Both sides lie 100% flat on the turntable with no signs of dishing or warping.

Play: VERY GOOD +

This copy has received frequent, but careful, play on good-quality equipment and there is no significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults throughout. My careful playcheck at volume detected light background audible on 'Yesterday' but overall everything on this dry & warm mono mix plays very well with no clicks, pops or any othersuch interference.

Cover

EXCELLENT +

An extremely clean, bright and, most importantly, white example with nothing more than a touch of light storagewear to the front laminate but no creasing or marking. There is light shelfwear to the lower corners but both opening edges are in superb, unblemished condition. The rear panel is nice and clean with no discolouration, writing or missing paper. All the flipbacks are perfectly clean and fully intact. Both seams and the clean, square spine are totally undamaged.
