Description
This record is a double rarity. First of all, it is pressed by Decca, not by EMI Parlophone. This was done on many occasions because of the huge pre-order pressings on Beatles' singles which could not be met by the "in house" capabilities of EMI. The difference is the gap in the push out centre, which in EMI pressings was about 1.25mm but Decca used a 2.75mm gap, much larger. There are many other differences but this is the most obvious. In addition, this copy was pressed with "I am the Walrus" labels on both sides, though the record plays correctly, "Walrus" on one side and "Hello Goodbye" on the other. The disc itself is in EX- condition with visible hairline scratches on the playing surface, but other than a bit of surface noise, these do not affect the play, which is excellent. This record comes in a generic white sleeve. Like all contract pressings, this record does not have stamper numbers in the dead wax, though there is the standard matrix number 7XCE 18433-1, the "KT" tax code and a small "9"
