READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles Forever Apple LP 1972 First Press Error Stereo Copy, 9 Tracks in MONO, NM!

Collectors of foreign market Beatles albums are well aware of this one. This compilation for the Latin American markets in Brazil, Peru and Spain issued this bizarre collection in the wake of the success of “The Beatles Again,” under the continuation title, “Beatles Forever.”  (Look at the weird selections that are all over the place!)

First pressings were actually manufactured in 1971, but issued in 1972.  They had Stereo labels, although 9 of the tracks are in MONO.  In 1972, the second label variation was issued, which deleted the word, “Estereo,” indicating that all pressings play 9 tracks in MONO, but I’m not sure about that.

Secondly, first pressings have an error on the closing track of the album.  The song is listed as “Blue Jar Way,” (Vicks Vapor Rub?) rather than “Blue Jay Way.”  There are some labels without the “Estereo” word that also say “Blue Jar Way,” but those are second pressings that are easier to find if you want one.

First pressing covers are constructed from cardboard, whereas second pressings have those glossy paper covers that are wrapped in plastic baggie.  This copy has the cardboard cover.

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  Vinyl looks very close to brand new.  No scratches on either side!

Plates--- AR2/BR3.

Cover--- EX.  Cover retains most of its white, glossy texture.  Two or three isolated tiny areas of dirt.  Bottom right corner has a little push-in.

Labels--- NM/NM.  NO SPINDLE MARKS ON EITHER SIDE.  Labels look 1972-fresh.

Custom Inner Sleeve--- EX. Glossy and sturdy inner sleeve is present. Has the corresponding push-in to the bottom corner.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Custom inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
