THE BEATLES - 'BEATLES FOR SALE'
This early UK 1st stereo pressing dates from initial December 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PCS 3062
Both labels have the 'Sold in UK...' text with 'The Parlophone Co...' worded rims.
A 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.
Matrix numbers: YEX 142-1 & YEX 143-1
Stamper codes: 4/GL & 5/AA
Vinyl weight: 151g
Housed in a rare variant cover which is the regular outer laminated gatefold variety, except it is missing the stereo information panel to the left of the catalogue number in the upper right corner of the left panel.
We have illustrated this difference in image #5 in this listing by showing a regular stereo cover and this exmaple below it.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex...' rice-paper lined inner-sleeve.

A fine set showing just a handful of well-aimed spindle trails around each unworn centre hole.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Exceptionally clean & unworn playing surfaces bearing little more than a few harmless wispy paper hairlines directly beneath halogen light.
Audio: MINT
Without doubt the finest sounding stereo pressing of this album, the flawless analogue mix shines throughout. Every track plays cleanly & clearly with a warmth and clarity unique to this early cutting. With no trace of any groove/playwear, crackle or a single tick, pop or click, you will not be disappointed.
Cover: EXCELLENT -
Very few of these variant covers were made and they rarely turn up for sale. This example is in respectable condition but does show signs of moderate storage and handling wear. The delicate front leaf is clean with a single 'thumbnail' wrinkle and slight wear to the exposed edges and some loss of shine, but no tears. The corners are in good shape with both ends of the spine hinge being fully intact. Both panels inside are clean with the only blemish being slight toning to the left edge of the left panel. The rear panel bears the usual light ringwear but is again free from any major faults. the spine is fully worded but with some flaking laminate. All seams are smooth & unstressed.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT -
Clean & flat with moderate age-toning but no writing, tears or seam splits.
