The Beatles – “Do You Want To Know A Secret” / “Thank You Girl” – Promo 45
VJ 587 – 1964
“Do You Want To Know A Secret” b/w “Thank You Girl” was released on March 23, 1964 on Vee-Jay Records. The record was the George’s first appearance as lead singer on an officially released single. By April 25, 1964, the record was number 3, just behind two other Beatles’ records: “Can’t Buy Me Love” and “Twist and Shout”. Two weeks later it reached number 2. But, strangely enough, it was Louis Armstrong’s “Hello Dolly!” that kept it from reaching number one.
This auction is for a promotional copy of VJ 587, “Do You Want To Know A Secret” b/w “Thank You Girl”. The blue and white labels are in Very Good + condition, with no writing and very little ring wear. The vinyl is in very good shape, too. This is a really clean copy of a rare record.
