Description
Super Scarce 7 LP Set - The Beeb's Lost Beatles Tapes - BBC Transcription Service CN 5302 - 1989.
Featuring rare performances from the beatles early days. Before this program was broadcast in the late 80's many of these tracks had not been heard since originally broadcast during the 60s'. A few of the songs were of course never recorded by the Beatles on any of their albums. Each record has roughly one hour of performances on it. A truly wonderful document of the Beatles early days.
Condition: Vinyl = 5 of the seven LP's I would grade as EX+, the other two have a couple of visible scuffs that are not audible at all but I would downgrade them to a EX- as a result. Cover = All are housed in generic orange BBC Transcription Service sleeves...VG+. The original running sheets are with 4 of the seven albums.
(Entry from Wikipedia) The Beeb's Lost Beatles Tapes was a music documentary series presented by Richard Skinner, comprising 14 half-hour episodes, broadcast on BBC Radio 1 between October 1 and December 31, 1988. Each episode was broadcast on Saturday evening with a repeat on the following Monday. The series presented rarely-broadcast and unreleased BBC recordings of The Beatles made between 1963 and 1968. This included sessions from Saturday Club, Easy Beat and Pop Go the Beatles. As well as the songs the programme included much of the Beatles' chat and interview material from the various programmes, much of it involving Brian Matthew and Kenny Everett. There are also contemporary interviews with people who were involved in the original programmes.
