RECORD GRADING:
SEALED: Unopened record
NM (Near Mint): Our highest grade. No visible flaws on record or the cover. Like new, most likely unplayed.
VG++: A record that has a few visual imperfections that will not affect the sound. Likely played only a handful of times or never at all. Not too far from NM. Covers should be close to perfect with minor signs of wear or age just becoming evident: slight ring-wear, minor denting to a corner, or writing on the cover should all be noted properly.
VG+: A few more surface marks than a VG++. The record has probably been played before but well taken care of and should play with very few audible imperfections. On a disc, there may be light paper scuffs from sliding in and out of a sleeve or the vinyl or some of the original luster may be lost.
VG: Expect some light surface noise in parts or a few clicks or pops here and there. A VG record will play with very minimal noise and will still be quite enjoyable. Usually a cover is VG when one or two of these problems are evident: ring wear, seam splits, bent corners, loss of gloss, stains, etc. We think our VG grade is conservative.
VG-: The record may have some deeper audible scratches and significant surface noise. There will be some clicks and pops more consistently than that of a VG record but will play without skipping. Several cover flaws will be apparent, but should not obliterate the artwork.
G: The record will have heavy wear and very apparent surface noise. Generally used for filler, and usually used if record is "rare" or cover is "rare."
