THE BEATLES - 'A HARD DAY'S NIGHT'
This wonderful sounding 1st UK MONO pressing dates from initial July 1964 release on the yellow & black Parlophone label: PMC 1230
Both labels bear the earliest 'chubby style' font with the 'Sold in UK....' text with 'The Parlophone Co Ltd..' rims
The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 2 label
Matrix numbers: XEX 481-3N & XEX 482-3N
Stamper codes: 1/TL & 1/LO
Vinyl weight: 158g
Housed in a front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover & its original rice-paper lined inner-sleeve
Also present is a genuine original plastic outer sleeve from Brian Epstein's 'NEMS' record store in Liverpool

A clean & unworn pair bearing nothing more than a small handful of spindle trails around each centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Perfectly clean deep-gloss playing surfaces which retain all of their factory shine and are, apart from a single light, non-feelable 2cm surface mark on side 1, unmarked in strong daylight. Closer inspection directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals little more than some superficial wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal & a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: NEAR MINT
A wonderful sounding copy which retains all of the warmth & clarity expected of a well looked after and seldom played UK 1st pressing. My single careful play-check at volume detected no trace of any groove/playwear distortion - even on the most frequently worn innermost track on both sides. In fact, apart from a touch of low-level vinyl background between tracks there is nothing to fault anywhere making this copy extremely difficult to upgrade for sound.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A strong & clean example which retains a high-gloss front panel laminate with just 3 small 'thumbnails' and a few light storage marks.
There is a hint or wear to the corner tips and opening edges but no bumps, splits or tears anywhere.
The exposed rear panel is clean, white and unblemished with fully intact and unworn flipbacks.
Both seams are smooth & unstressed & the spine is clean, unworn & perfectly worded.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Crisp & uncreased with slight age-toning but no writing, tears or seam splits.
