READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Ever hear John scream at the interviewer?

Most interview albums are boring and of no consequence.  If you care about the history of the band, these interviews are probably the most important ones ever committed to tape, besides Lennon’s “Working Class Hero” interview.  Recorded in London, these interviews weren’t meant to be heard outside of England.

Conducted between 1968 and 1971, these discussions took place just as The Beatles were breaking up.  David Wigg, a fellow British man, asks some very direct questions and he gets very direct answers.  Just some samples:

*1968, he asks Ringo about the current reports of tensions within the band during the recording of the White Album.

*1969, he asks each of them for their personal opinions regarding the just-released “Abbey Road” album.  VERY good segments.

*1970, he asks George shortly before the official breakup to discuss his feelings.  In true George fashion, he answers, “I got born seemingly to become Beatle George.  But it’s just a temporary thing.  I mean, even if it means being a Beatle for the rest of me life, it’s still only a temporary thing.”

*1971, he gets a lot more than he bargained for when he insinuates to John that the breakup may have been due to wives.  John makes no attempt to hide his rage. 

*This is the only recorded example I can think of, where John raises his voice in exploded anger, and full-on shouts at the interviewer!  

“How can two women split up four strong men, it’s impossible!!”

“If Yoko and Linda are responsible for the breakup, then can they please have the credit for all the great music we’ve produced as individual artists?!”

Vinyl--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.

Plates--- PBR 7005/6 I,  PBR 7005/6 II,  PBR 7005/6 III,  PBR 7005/6 IV

Cover--- NM in shrink.  Beautifully preserved.

Gatefold--- NM.  Never been opened.

Rare Hype Sticker--- NM.  Widely released on black vinyl (see compere photo), this copy is one of the limited pressings on BLUE VINYL.  VERY hard to find the black vinyl issue to begin with. 

These BLUE VINYL copies are extremely difficult.

As such, so are these hype stickers.

Breathe Holes--- None.

Labels--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.  The far scarcer Blue Vinyl copies have silver labels, whereas the black vinyl copies have white labels.

Booklet--- NM.  I’ve owned this copy for decades, and I seriously just realized that the booklet is included.  I’ve not opened it, with the exception of getting the photos for this auction.

(NOTE: I bought the black vinyl pressing new, and there was no booklet included.  It may have only been issued with the colored vinyl copies.)

Inner Sleeves--- NM/NM.  NM/NM.  Generic white sleeves.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

I hate to sell this one, but it’s time to let another serious collector fill this hole in their collection.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
