READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles 1967 LP Help! RAREST MONO LA Pressing with Seldom Seen JAX Micro Print, EX!

A couple weeks ago, I sold a very rare consignment Decca MONO copy of Help!, which had listed the track, “You’re Gonna Lose That Girl” as “You’re Going to Lose That Girl” as the earliest example of that change in title.  In that listing, I’d made mention of later LA pressings in MONO, which also changed that title just prior to it becoming uniformly used in stereo only, from 1968 onward.

There were the more common LA MONO labels with that title change, and then there was another LA pressing that exhausted the Jacksonville in-house labels.  This is that other MONO copy with Jacksonville labels!

These are stupidly rare, and this copy is in collector’s grade condition.

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Both sides present as NM.  You have to look closely for a few seconds to start to see some very minor and extremely light flaws per side.  A NM grade wouldn’t be improper.

Plates--- F13/F11.  Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.

Cover--- VG+.  Very solid cover.  Light yellowing, front and back.  Thin line of dirtwear to the bottom front.  NO SEAM SPLITS.  Punch hole in the top right corner.

NOTE:  In 50 years of collecting, I’ve seen maybe half a dozen of these.  ALL the covers have this hole punch, as do the inner sleeves.

Gatefold--- EX.  NO CENTER SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Gorgeous in-house Jax labels look like they were printed up this morning.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Original Capitol beige inner sleeve from 1967 is present.  Presents EX.  But each side seam has a split about 2 inches long.  Punch hole appears at the bottom corner of each side, which is weird.  LP sleeve must have been inserted upside-down at the factory.  Sleeve has the west coast thumb tab.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)
