Description

Unbelievable find! A factory SEALED true stereo copy of the 1959 Barbary Coast LP from Barbara Dane “Trouble In Mind” (BC 33014).

When I found this LP it was still sealed in outer shrink-wrap but I opened it to see if it was a reshrink or reissue. To my surprise I found that it was sealed in an inner baggy, whcih was the way some labels shipped their LPs in the 1950s/60s before the advent of shrink-wrap.

Recorded in true stereo in 1957 it had only been previously been released in monaural and this was the first stereo issue.

Barbara Dane’s performance combines elements of jazz, blues and folk music. She was backed by Pete Stanton (trumpet), Don Ewell (piano), Bob Mielke (trombone), Darnell Howard (clarinet) and Pops Foster (bass).

The tracklist is: Special Delivery Blues/Ain't Nobody Got The Blues/Trouble In Mind/Misery Blues/Mighty Rumbling Blues/See See Rider/Good Morning Blues/Oh Papa/Prescription For The Blues/Muddy Water.

The SEALED LP has no obvious defects and the still in shrink wrap cover has no splits, tears, writing or cutouts, The back cover has extensive liner notes by C. H. Garrigues, then jazz critic for the San Francisco Examiner plus technical data about the stereo recording.

NO reserve and a reasonable $24.99 minimum bid. I ship worldwide and will combine winning bids to save on postage. In the US, the winning bidder pays choice of media mail ($2.85) or priority shipping (based on ZIP code). Good luck!
