If you thought that SONY's 20-bit mastered (and remixed, boo-hoo! L ) Compact Disc edition of this album was the best thing since sliced bread - forget it!!! You ain't heard nothing yet. The real thing is this original M-O-N-O vinyl copy of this unbelievable soft-psych classic from 1967. Just hearing David Crosby's mind-blowing version of 'Everybody's been burned' in its resplendent mono version is alone worth the price of admission. And that's just the beginning. From the opening chord, to the closing twang, this is one chockful of ear candies that never stops to amuse, amaze, transfix, mesmerize and inspire. A truly, genuinely fantastic listening experience. This is the original 1967 US Columbia pressing of this album (CL-2642) - OUR PERSONAL BYRDS FAVORITE AND ONE OF 10 BEST ROCK RECORDINGS OF ALL TIME, PERIOD!!!

And, maybe we should add this: in our entire 32-year-long record collecting history, we have NEVER – EVER – seen an album which sounds so DRAMATICALLY better in mono than its lowly stereo version. Simply put, MONO version of this album blows the STEREO pressing to pieces. We literally feel younger than yesterday every time we play this mono masterpiece.

(a)            THE ALBUM IS STILL FACTORY SEALED AND IS BELIEVED TO BE PERFECTLY MINT. Please note: sealed items are assumed to be mint and are sold as-is, as we have no way of inspecting them. For our policy on still sealed records ►click here (PLEASE READ BEFORE PLACING A BID)

(b)            The record is believed to come in its original stock inner sleeve (although it may also be a sealed inner plastic baggy).

(c)             The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(d)            Mono pressing of this title is much rarer, and by far more preferable to its stereo counterpart. We think that the mix is more natural, humane, "organic" and that the mixes are somewhat different than on the stereo version. We estimate that stereo copies of this album outnumber mono pressings by a ratio of at least 10:1.

(e)             Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

COVER IS NEAR MINT, STILL SEALED AND COVERED IN ITS ORIGINAL ►SHRINK WRAP

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-         Cover has two tiny, almost invisible, pinholes (or staple holes) in one corner. These tiny holes are NOT cutout holes.

-         Cover has a small cutout hole in one of the corners

-         Minor shelf wear noted on the bottom seam (nothing significant)

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on both sides, apparently from aging.

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-         No split seams

-         No ring wear

-         No cut-out corners

-         No saw-marks or indents

-         No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-         No wrinkles or creases

-         No writing

-         No stamps

-         No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-         No peel-off marks

-         No stains

-         No mold or mildew spots

-         No stickers or labels

-         No water damage

-         No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or cuts.

-         No warping

-         No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-         No glue traces or wax residue.

-         No bar codes

-         No RIAA stamps or stickers.
