Brooklyn's own Johnny Burgos and producer Jeremy Page take a bridgeside ride, tracing the cycle path lines of of New York and its many retro soul traditions. Across 11 tracks, the pair map the arc of a love affair as if measuring weather patterns; bright at first, humid with longing, then cooling into time-flies resolution. Burgos's voice plumes from tenderness and into ache, while Page's arrangements deliver dusty drums and gluing glockenspiel, tempered by approach notes and saturated vocal harmonies. Conceived and well timed as a seasonal narrative, the record falls from rush to reckoning with quiet precision, with exhilarating slow jam suspense evoked on 'Tired Of Missing You' and 'Sure'.
