Description

THIS LP IS BY 'BUDDY HOLLY AND (THE THREE TUNES) AND IS CALLED 'THAT'LL BE THE DAY' AND WAS RELEASED HERE IN AUSTRALIA ON THE 4TH AUGUST 1963 ON THE LIGHT BLUE AND SILVER FESTIVAL LABEL DL-31067. THE SECOND LP OF HOLLY EVER RELEASED ON THIS DESIGN OF LABEL.

YES YOU READ CORRECTLY DL-31067 AND NOT FL-31067!

THIS LP WAS ORIGINALLY RELEASED AS FL-7112 ON THE DARK BLUE LABEL (REFER NUMBER SIX) AND THEN AS FL-31067. IN THE EARLY TO MID SIXTIES FESTIVAL RECORDS RE-RELEASED AND RE-CATALOGUED ALL THEIR FESTIVAL EPS AND LPS TO A D PREFIX. THUS AN EP OF FX-3204 BECAME DX-3204 AND ALL LPS CHANGED FROM FL TO DL.

THIS HOLLY RELEASE IS ONE OF THOSE AS IT WENT FROM A FL-31067 TO DL-31067.

THIS LP IS HARD TO FIND.

THE TRACKS ARE:

YOU ARE MY ONE DESIRE, BLUE DAYS - BLACK NIGHTS, MODERN DON JUAN, ROCK AROUND WITH OLLIE VEE, TING-A-LING, GIRL ON MY MIND, THAT'LL BE THE DAY, LOVE ME, I'M CHANGING ALL THOSE CHANGES, DON'T COME BACK KNOCKING AND MIDNIGHT SHIFT.

THE COVER IS IN VERY GOOD CONDITON. THE SPINE HAS SOME TAPE AND THE BACK SHOWS AGEING. THE FRONT HAS SOME RW. BUT PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THESE COVERS WERE POORLY MADE. I HAVE ANOTHER 5 OF THESE LP'S AND THE BEST COVER I HAVE ALSO HAS RW.

THE LABELS ARE CLEAN AND CLEAR.

THE RECORD IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

THE RECORD PLAYS LOUD AND CLEAR.

LOL

For grading purposes I play side one only of an EP or 45 (mainly the ‘A’ side) and a few tracks on side one of an LP.

I also grade records on a perceived appearance basis. I then combine them (playing and appearance) for an overall grading. I believe this to be the most effective way of grading records. Some records can look ordinary but they play well and vikky vika. If unhappy with my product in any way please contact me, Roddy Jordan by phone 02 66875339 or overseas 011 61 2 66875339 or by email: hollysbuddy1@bigpond.com or 18 Montwood Drive Lennox Head 2478 Australia and I will refund your money in full after I receive the product back.

PLEASE WAIT FOR AN INVOICE

All vinyl listed on auction has been cleaned, played and visually inspected so that you may bid with confidence. Albums (LPs) and Extended Plays (EPs) are sent with the record outside of the cover and placed in an outer plastic sleeve (to prevent ring-wear) before safely packed.

Where required, the sleeves have been cleaned with a secret formula to eradicate as much ring-wear and built up dirt as possible.

I use the English Record Collectors Magazine Guidelines for gradings as this appears to be the generally accepted term of reference with variances to + or minus. Below are grading scales.

GRADING DEFINITIONS FROM THE ENGLISH RECORD COLLECTOR MAGAZINE

MINT (M): The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just about playable, but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

THERE ARE VARIANCES + OR - TO THE ABOVE ASSESSMENTS.

THANKS FOR LOOKING AT MY AUCTION/S
